Over the past year, the world has witnessed multiple cataclysmic emergencies. From the brutal conflicts in Gaza, Sudan, and Yemen to the devastating earthquake in war-ravaged Syria and floods in Afghanistan. Our help and support have never been needed more.
Families in crisis zones need your help
The deadly escalation of violence in Gaza has taken the humanitarian situation to unimaginable levels. Over 35,000 Palestinians have lost their lives, more than 79,000 are wounded, and most people are displaced. Families are starving as the vital aid route from Egypt into Gaza remains cut off, while over 450,000 Palestinians sheltering in Rafah have evacuated with no safe place to go.
In Sudan, war and the effects of climate change have caused the world’s biggest displacement crisis, with 18 million people hungry and 220,000 children malnourished. In Yemen, after nearly 10 years of war and an array of climate-related challenges, 21.6 million people are in dire humanitarian need.
After the catastrophic earthquake last year, the many challenges already faced by vulnerable Syrians displaced by over 13 years of conflict have been compounded. And more recently, in Afghanistan, flash floods have killed more than 300 people and damaged and destroyed thousands of homes less than a year after a deadly earthquake in a country already facing a humanitarian crisis.
