More than 100,000 people have fled Sudan since violent clashes broke out between rival forces in April 2023. At least 413 people have been killed and 3,551 injured in the escalating conflict and millions are trapped without food, water, or electricity.
$40 - Provide food for one orphan for one month.
$55 - Help provide basic care supplies including nappies and baby formula for one baby for one month.
$65 - Help contribute towards the running costs of the orphanage.
Vulnerable families are being forced to flee to neighbouring countries in need of urgent help and shelter. The humanitarian situation is on the verge of becoming catastrophic.
The UN estimates some 3.7 million people were already internally displaced across the country, and one third of the population, 15.8 million people need humanitarian aid.
Lifesaving supplies under siege
The violence threatens to disrupt critical supplies reaching those who need it most as the key cities of Khartoum and Port Sudan remain under siege. Lifesaving food and medical items are in severely short supply, impacting vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and disabled the most.
Children in crisis
Sudan has one of the highest rates of malnutrition among children in the world. More than 3 million children are acutely malnourished, and numbers are expected to rise due to the ongoing conflict.
Children are caught up in a devastating and unfolding crisis in Sudan, lacking access to basic healthcare, food, and education – many of whom will now be forced to live in displacement camps as the world comes together in hope of finding a peaceful resolution to the violence.
Human Appeal is on the ground in Sudan providing lifesaving food, emergency care, and protection to the most vulnerable children affected by the violence.
We are supporting 5 orphanages in Khartoum, providing protection and support to children, including babies, orphans, and teachers.
