The Hypocrites’ Deception – Attending gatherings while mocking faith.
The hypocrites would participate in the Prophet's (SAW) gatherings to show off, pretending to be part of the Muslim community while lacking any true faith in their hearts. They would attend sessions of knowledge, appear to pray, and even engage in battles to gain worldly benefits, like spoils of war. However, they would mock the believers by pretending not to understand the teachings, making fun of the Prophet's (SAW) words. Allah revealed that these people would listen attentively but, upon leaving, ask those with knowledge what was said, showing their lack of sincerity. Allah had sealed their hearts, and they followed their own desires. The Qur'an repeatedly exposed their hypocrisy.
