In Darou Salam, a small village in Senegal’s Thiès Region, 200 residents have no reliable access to safe drinking water. Women and children walk long distances every day to collect water from unsafe sources, putting their health at risk and leaving no time for education or work. Livestock owners struggle to water their animals, threatening the livelihoods that sustain entire families.
Human Appeal is drilling a 15-meter solar-powered semi-artesian well and building a full water distribution system — giving Darou Salam a permanent, sustainable source of clean water for the first time.
