At Bashair University Hospital in Sudan, newborns arriving for emergency care have nowhere to go. There is no dedicated neonatal intensive care unit for referred and emergency cases — leaving the most vulnerable newborns, many born to displaced and low-income families, without the specialist care they need to survive.
Human Appeal is establishing and fully equipping a dedicated Outborn NICU and Septic Nursery at Bashair University Hospital — creating a life-saving space for referred newborns and emergency neonatal cases that currently have no specialized care available to them.
