Reema's First 14 Days of Care

Reema's First 14 Days of Care

Reema Cannot Wait

Reema is a young girl from Gaza living with Epidermolysis Bullosa — known as Butterfly Disease — a rare and devastating condition that causes her skin to blister and tear with the slightest touch. She has painful open wounds across her back and limbs, and her condition is now affecting her sight, heart, and kidneys.

She is severely malnourished. She and her family live in a tent on a rooftop, exposed to extreme heat. Her father has heart disease. Her eldest brother, the family's only breadwinner, was injured during the war and can no longer work. They have no income and cannot afford the wound care, medication, or nutrition Reema urgently needs.

Without intervention, her health will continue to deteriorate.

We are working with AWDA Hospital to provide Reema with an initial 14-day emergency intervention — easing her suffering, rebuilding her strength, caring for her wounds, and protecting her from further complications.

The Crisis Reema Is Living Through

Epidermolysis Bullosa causes constant painful wounds requiring specialist daily nursing care, which her family cannot afford.

Without treatment, her condition will worsen and lead to further complications.

Her family has no income, no shelter from the heat, and no means to access the care she desperately needs.
