A street is not a home

“Whoever does not show mercy to our young ones, or acknowledge the rights of our elders, is not one of us.”* (Ahmad)

A child on the street isn’t just struggling for food - they’re continuously at risk of exploitation, abuse, and unable to receive an education to improve their future.

$270 – Provide a child living on the streets of Dhaka with nutritious food, healthcare, education, and a safe place to go for a year, helping them to get off the streets.

$975 - Change the life of a street child in Pakistan by providing food, a safe space, healthcare, counselling, and skill development, giving them a way out of abuse and exploitation.

Forgotten, alone, and on the streets. Children living on the streets of Pakistan and Bangladesh struggle to avoid exploitation and abuse.

It’s impossible for a child to survive without someone to protect and support them. When a child is forced to fend for themselves, they are vulnerable to abuse, exploitation, and drug addiction.

In Pakistan, an estimated 1.5 million people live on the streets, in the city of Dhaka, Bangladesh alone, that figure is 350,000. Many have been abandoned or are escaping violence, but some come from families that are so vulnerable that they’ve been forced onto the street.

It is the right of all children to expect mercy, kindness and care from Muslims, and it’s our duty to protect them from harm.

Zakat

It’s an incredible blessing to be able to give, no matter how little, as charity offers blessings and protection in this life and the hereafter, and transforms the lives of people facing hardship around the world.

How you can help in Pakistan

When you support our drop-in center in Lahore, you’ll help to give street children a safe space, food, and health check-ups, medicine, to meet their short-term needs, as well as counselling and skill development so that they can build confidence, and have brighter futures.

We’re also working to provide those most in need with skill development and education classes, such as reading, writing, and math, and then help them to enroll in a school. We’ll also refer young adults to training institutes to help them learn technical skills and to have a vocation in adulthood.

How you can help in Bangladesh

When you support our drop-in center in Dhaka, you’ll help to give street children a safe space, food, and healthcare to meet their short-term needs, as well as education, vocational classes, and outreach services so that they can build confidence, and have brighter futures.

You’ll help us to provide street children with recreational activities, classes, books, and stationary, as well as sessions on their rights, exploitation, hygiene, abuse, trafficking and child marriage so that they have the knowledge to protect themselves.

Be a mercy

No child should be left to fend for themselves, without guidance, food, or support. Islam teaches us the blessings for compassion, and for saving a life.

Donate to our street children support centers in Lahore and Dhaka, and help us to save children from a life of drugs on the streets. Be a mercy to the youngest and most vulnerable in our Ummah.

Honor and protect the children of the Ummah today.
