Dhul Hijjah: The Best 10 Days

When asked about the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah, the Messenger (PBUH) said, “There is no deed more greatly rewarded deed in the sight of Allah than the good deed that is done in the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah.” (Bukhari)

£1,500 – Provide clean water for 100 people in Rafah, helping us to build a desalination plant that will provide 60,000 people with fresh water every day.

£800 - Install a deep water well, changing the future of an entire community.

£100 - Provide clean water, sanitation and improved hygiene to 10 Rohingya refugees, protecting them from disease, infection, and floods.

Dhul Hijjah is one of the holiest months in the year, during which Muslims around the world fast, pray, and do good deeds to seek Allah’s mercy. Dhul Hijjah hosts, Hajj, Eid al-Adha, and the Day of Arafah, on which Allah saves more people from hellfire than any other day in the year.

The Messenger (PBUH) told us how much Allah loves and rewards good deeds in the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah:

“There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.” (Bukhari)

Just like the last 10 days of Ramadan, the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah are a chance to seek Allah’s forgiveness, to expiate our sins, and to seek closeness to Allah.

Relieving hunger

Human Appeal works all year round to relieve hunger, and its causes. During Dhul Hijjah, we distribute nutritious Qurbani meat to some of the world’s more vulnerable families in hard-to-reach places. Right now, our teams across 11 countries are preparing to deliver your Qurbani on the days of Eid.

Last year, your donations provided 401,006 people with nutritious meat during the blessed days of Eid. For many, it’s their only chance in the year to eat meat.

When you give Qurbani, you fulfil a religious duty, support good nutrition, and you allow families to enjoy Eid without worrying where their next meal will come from.

Reaping blessings, transforming lives

Give Zakat or Sadaqah in Dhul Hijjah and maximise your rewards this Dhul Hijjah. It’s the best time of the year to give. Support our long-term projects and you could provide an entire community with water for years to come, or install clean water solutions in Rohingya refugee camps, or donate the training and equipment to give a person a livelihood for the rest of their life!

Allah loves good deeds in these 10 days more than any other time of the year. Seek his mercy, spread hope, and reap the blessings of the best 10 days of the year.
