Our CEO and management team are accountable to our Board of Trustees, which directs, governs, and oversees our charity. The Board are responsible for setting and reviewing our strategic direction. They also ensure that our work complies with regulations and that it remains consistently transparent and accountable.
Mr Abdulwahab Kadiri
Chair of the Board of Trustees
Appointed in November 2021, Abdulwahab leads the Board’s strategy, governance, and overall effectiveness.
With 18+ years at Mumineen Relief and four years at Human Appeal, he brings deep humanitarian experience.
A Biological Sciences graduate and award-winning founding member of Mumineen Relief, he’s served communities in Pakistan, Palestine, Sudan, Libya, and Nigeria.
He joined Human Appeal to help the needy worldwide and enjoys traveling, reading, and gardening.
Professor Kamil Omoteso
Member of the Board of Trustees
Professor Kamil Omoteso is a professor of Accounting and Governance, and the Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean of the College of Business, Law, and Social Sciences at the University of Derby. He was also the founding Chair of the Educational Support Initiative for Africa (ESIfA), which has donated over 75,000 books and academic journals to universities across Africa.
Professor Omoteso is an experienced educator and has held roles at De Montfort and Coventry universities. In 2015 he was the recipient of the Outstanding Author Contribution at the Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence.
Originally from Lagos, Nigeria, Professor Omoteso has spent his career educating, and counselling others to better understand accountancy, and he joined Human Appeal’s Board of Trustees to give back to vulnerable communities.
Fariba Ludin
Member of the Board of Trustees
Appointed in August 2021, Fariba Ludin brings extensive experience in administration, operations, and finance across corporate and nonprofit sectors.
She studied at Orange Coast College and holds certifications in First Aid and executive administration.
Fariba joined Human Appeal to help underserved communities and create lasting positive change.
Mr Munir Eltal
Member of the Board of Trustees
Appointed in December 2021, Munir Eltal is a Project Manager with a background in biomedical engineering and a PMP Certification.
He studied and taught Arabic at the Institute of Knowledge and holds certificates from Bayyinah Institute.
Based in Southern California, Munir is passionate about Quranic studies and authors Heavenly Order, a weekly blog exploring the structure of the Quran.
Dr. Safwat Morsy
Member of the Board of Trustees
Appointed in 2024, Dr. Safwat Morsy serves as Trustee, bringing deep expertise in Islamic studies and leadership.
He is the President of Al Sabeel and a professor at both GTF and Manara University, where he heads the Islamic Jurisprudence Department.
Dr. Morsy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Islamic Studies from Al-Azhar University and a Ph.D. in Islamic Studies from the Graduate Theological Foundation.
He was awarded the Imam Malik Fellowship for his doctoral thesis, The Islamic Discourse and the Changing Reality.
Dr. Abdulrahman Alhefny
Member of the Board of Trustees
Dr Abdulrahman Alhefny has held leadership roles, particularly during night shifts, ensuring patient safety and operational efficiency. He is actively involved in junior and middle grade doctor education, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical governance activities, including audits, incident reviews, and governance meetings.
His previous roles include Registrar in Emergency Medicine at Erfan and Bagedo General Hospital in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia (2015–2020), as well as various clinical posts in Egypt, including Emergency Medicine Resident at Ain Shams University Hospitals and Medical Officer roles in both the Armed Forces and the Ministry of Health.
He is a member of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine and the Saudi Society of Emergency Medicine.
